Dr Michael Merrett
Dr Michael Merrett is a highly experienced Gastroenterologist with a long-standing career in both clinical practice and Gastroenterology research. After completing his specialist GI training in Melbourne, he was awarded the PHH Travelling Scholarship, which led to advanced training and research work at Oxford University (UK) within the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit. During this time, he further developed expertise in advanced GI Endoscopy and contributed to significant medical research published in leading international journals including Gut, Gastroenterology and the European Journal of Gastroenterology. His work has also been presented at international medical conferences across Australia, Europe and the USA.
Over many years, Dr Merrett has held respected public appointments including Visiting Gastroenterologist at Monash Medical Centre and Head of Unit at Frankston Public Hospital within the Peninsula Network. In 2006, he founded and established the clinic, building a reputation for delivering high-quality, patient-focused Gastroenterology care to the local community.
