Dr. Michael Merrett
Dr Michael Merrett is an experienced Gastroenterologist having completed his specialist GI training in Melbourne. He was awarded the PHH travelling scholarship and then worked at Oxford University (UK) as a senior research fellow in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit, undertook further training in advanced GI Endoscopy and medical research. This research resulted in many publications as the primary author in leading journals such as Gut, Gastroenterology, European Journal Gastroenterology and Australian Journals. This work has been presented at International meetings in the USA, Europe and Australia.
He has had past public appointments as Visiting Gastroenterologist at Monash Medical Centre and the Peninsula Network – Frankston Public Hospital (Head of Unit).
In 2006 he founded and established Frankston Private Hospital with a focus on delivering high quality clinical care. He lives in Bayside Melbourne and continues in Gastroenterology private practice.
